Applications are being accepted for Life:Powered’s 2023 Summer STEM Energy Institute! We will be hosting groups of qualified teachers on July 11-13 in Midland, Texas to participate in this event as Institute Fellows.
Twenty teachers from across Texas will be selected to participate in a three-day deep dive into energy production in Texas. In addition to energy and education seminars led by energy experts and education professionals, you will visit museums, tour an oil rig and a power plant. Through these experiences, you will gain valuable insight of the abundant, reliable energy resources in Texas to take back to your classroom.
This opportunity will provide teachers with 24 hours of continuing education credit over a three-day period this summer. Through real-world and hands-on opportunities, you will engage in the story of energy that is woven throughout your life.
What is included for Institute Fellows:
- Reimbursement for travel to and from the Energy Institute;
- A hotel room covered by Life:Powered on the Sunday night through Wednesday of class week;
- Meals provided by Life:Powered during their stay;
- Receive a $500 stipend;
- Receive 24 classroom contact hours for professional development (TEA-approved).
