SESSION 1 CHANGES TO THE TEXAS SCIENCE TEKS (7pm-8pm on Thursday, March 30th)

What changes to the Texas science TEKS can you expect in 2023? How can you adapt your science lessons for special populations? We will answer these questions and more in this enlightening session.

SESSION 2 WHAT IS ENERGY? (7pm-8pm on Thursday, April 13th)

Energy fuels life, and yet 800 million people worldwide do not have access to energy. In this webinar, we will explore different types of energy and learn how resources are used in the production and conservation of energy. Also, you will learn why resource management is important in reducing global energy poverty and malnutrition.

SESSION 3 TEXAS ENERGY RESOURCES (7pm-8pm on Thursday, April 27th)

Everything is bigger in Texas, including our natural resources. Learn about the abundant Texas energy resources and explore their uses. In this session, we will investigate skills employers are looking for when hiring new employees because there is a job for everyone in Texas energy.

SESSION 4 ENERGY DENSITY (7pm-8pm on Thursday, May 11th)

Is all energy created equal? What is the difference between renewable and non renewable energy? What role does cost benefit analysis play in energy production and use (a NEW science skill in the new science TEKS)? Join us in unpacking all of the questions surrounding the abundant energy resources.

LESSON PLAN DEVELOPMENT

Show us what you learned! After you have been inspired by our webinar sessions, create a lesson plan using the template you will receive in each session. Submit your lesson to our Dropbox to earn two more hours in CE credit! And, teachers whose lesson plans selected for publication with our subscribers will be compensated with a $75 Amazon gift card.
