AUSTIN — Today, the Texas Public Policy Foundation congratulates Mandy Gunasekara, senior fellow with the Foundation’s Life:Powered project, on being selected to join the Environmental Protection Agency as Chief of Staff.

America is a world leader in clean air and water even while our economy, energy industry, and population have skyrocketed. There’s no better expert than Mandy Gunasekara to continue building on our history of environmental success,” said Jason Isaac, senior manager and distinguished fellow of the Life:Powered project. “Mandy’s principled leadership at the EPA will ensure the current administration continues to strike the proper balance between responsible stewardship and individual liberty.”

Gunasekara is the founder of the Energy 45 Fund, a non-profit organization committed to educating the public about recent environmental and economic gains. Mandy previously served in the EPA as the Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Office of Air and Radiation and was the chief architect of the Paris Accord withdrawal, the repeal of the Clean Power Plan, and led efforts to develop its replacement, the Affordable Clean Energy (ACE) rule.

Life:Powered is a national initiative of the Texas Public Policy Foundation to raise America’s energy IQ by informing the national discussion about energy and the environment and advocating for policies that promote economic freedom and advance the human condition.
